This organic lot comes from a woman and single producer, Miranda Huaman Gregoria, who operates the farm Mesapata. We love Peruvian coffees and we love coffees produced by women so this is truly a treat! The coffee has the classic profile we associate with Cusco, Peru: dark berries, silky date, and dark chocolate.

Notes from our partners at Red Fox:

Born in the coffee producing town of Huaynapata, Gregoria Miranda is one of our top coffee producers in all of Southern Peru. She’s been cultivating coffee for several years since inheriting his family’s farm, which totals 3 hectares—all dedicated to coffee production.

She grows entirely Bourbon varieties among a variety of shade trees, including Albizia and Pacay. After processing, she loads her parchment onto mules to be delivered to the nearest road access. Gregoria is a passionate coffee producer who wishes to obtain national and international recognition in the future.

The name of her farm is Mesapata. Mesapata is a Quechua word that means that the land of the area is plane like a table.
