This is our second consecutive year buying this pink bourbon lot from Viviana Realpe,

who, at 30 years old, operates the 7 hectare farm she inherited from her father. Her coffee has a remarkably well balanced profile. It has a brown sugar sweetness up front, citrus brightness, sweet fruit quality, and a delicate floral aroma. 

Viviana and her husband both come from coffee producing families, yet, they are constantly investing in new infrastructure and practices. They have upgraded tile fermentation tanks, a de-pulper, and a newly built drier on their own farm. It's heartening to see a younger generation of coffee growers actively building and modernizing their familial legacy in calculated ways. She is a member of Asociación Los Guacharos who we love to buy coffee from. 

Los Guacharos are a group of independent, quality-focused small producers in Bruselas, Southern Huila (close to Pitalito). The group is collectively converting to organic agriculture, making their own fertilizers and fungicides, installing complex water filtration systems that use gravity, stones and sand to remove all mucilage residues from waste water to not contaminate water systems.
