Coffee production in Myanmar faced a large overhaul due to a 2014 USAID project helping rural farmer shift from unprofitable commercial grade coffee to high-value specialty coffee. Over the span of 5 years, international coffee consultants spent time in Myanmar conducting cuppings and trainings in collaboration with producers to improve quality control and production practices.
Sin Net Chaung, an ethnically Danu tribe, is a community within the Shwe Thaung Thu Association in Myanmar's Shan State. The dry climate of this region lends itself well to dry processed coffee which are dried in cherry on raised beds.
This natural process offer deviates from our staple washed coffee profile but still presents a clean, sweet and bright cup with notes of honeydew, green grape and brown sugar.
